Founded in 1910, this impactful northside nonprofit has developed 61 social and economic programs, and has been steadily growing with the community over the past 114 years. First, we’ll have a tour of the 205,000 square foot building, formerly the Sears Roebuck store, housing their 61 programs, including Head Start, Financial Literacy training, neighborhood programs, housing programs, food pantry, credit union services, office of violence prevention and much more.  The tour will include a construction update on the arts space being developed in partnership with the Missouri History Museum and arts organizations.  The tour is followed by a presentation from award-winning St. Louis journalist, reporter, host, columnist, and author Carol Daniel. Carol will tell the story of the Save our Sisters Empowering Women program. This program connects women with vital services such as employment support, rental and utility assistance, computer training, and entrepreneurial guidance.

The Urban League of Metropolitan St. Louis served more than 200,000 individuals in the community in 2023. This will be the first of two Education programs held this year to learn more about their work in St. Louis. Read about its mission and vision here: https://www.ulstl.com/mission--vision.html#/
